Welcome!

 

Hello, and welcome to my blog!  It’s a work in progress, so it’s not too pretty right now.  I’ll get to that whenever the customization tool decides to start cooperating with me and finally loads.  (I’m curious to see what all can be done with it.  I’ve not had even a quick peek at it so far.  Maybe it will start working tomorrow.)

So… if you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering  these two things:

Question #1:  What is this blog about? 

I’ll be blogging about things that interest me, so it’s a sure bet I’ll be blogging thoughts about books I’m reading, or have read in the past.  (I hesitate to call those thoughts “book reviews” because I suck at writing something truly worthy of the name more often than not.)  TV… movies…  video games… nifty cleaning tricks I’ve learned through the years… art work I admire… pet peeves… funny memes… history… who knows?  So many things spark my interest, and I have opinions on all of them.  Hmm.  Perhaps I should have named this blog Mental Potpourri instead of Moonlight Muse.  Which brings us to the second thing you might be wondering…

Question #2:  Why on earth did you decide to name it Moonlight Muse, of all things? 

Because it seemed like a good idea at the time.  Ha!  Actually, I chose the name because it fit what I was doing at the time. I’d just decided I wanted to start a blog, and was fast on my way to creating one when I hit my first roadblock; I had to choose a name for it.  An impossible task!  I came up with several instantly, only to discover that name was already being used on someone else’s blog, or it was the name of a website or Facebook page.  Well, it simply wouldn’t do to use those names, now, would it?  So I thought… and I thought… and I thought some more.  Musing over the options, as the moonlight shined outside.  Almost as soon as I thought of using Moonlight Muse as the name, I discarded it.  Too silly… it made no sense.  I would have to think of something else.  Finding myself still mulling it over 24 hours later, I decided it wasn’t such a silly name after all… and it kind of appropriate because that’s what I’d spent hours doing the night before.  And so the Moonlight Muse blog was born.
