About Me

Hey, nice to ‘meet’ you! I’m delighted to welcome you to my little corner of the internet, The Geeky Bibliophile. As the name suggests, most of what I write about here on TGB is bookish in nature—reviews of books I’ve read, author interviews (there’s only one so far, but I’m planning to do more), and just about anything having to do with books and reading. But I love to get my geek on about other things—such as my favorite TV shows— as well, because there actually is more to life than just books. (More on that later.)

But first, let me introduce myself and tell you a bit about me. My name is Betty, and the men in my life (the hubby and our three adult sons) are more important to me than anyone or anything in this world. They make my heart happy, and I love them more than words can say.

My other “kids” are my fur babies. I have a beautiful dog named Maggie Mae that I absolutely adore, as well as several indoor cats and outdoor cats that we’re caring for, as well. They all started out as strays that were unwanted and hungry, but now they have a place to call home, where they will always have food, water, and a warm place to sleep.

I’m a geek at heart, and it shows in my TV addiction. I have binge-watching marathons all the time, and I’m constantly adding to my TV series DVD collection, even though I’m quickly running out of shelf space. I can spend hours analyzing favorite episodes, character motivations, and quoting dialogue.

A few of my favorites are: The Walking Dead, Outlander, Breaking Bad, Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who, Orphan Black, Star Trek (every series), Chuck, Charmed, Downton Abbey, The Waltons, Eureka, and Warehouse 13. (OK, I got a little carried away with my list, but I did say I was a TV addict, right?)

I also love to play video games (even though I’m not that great at it). I’ve spent hours trying to complete all the side missions and/or unlock extras in games like Assassin’s Creed, Tomb Raider, and Resident Evil.  I haven’t played much since I started blogging, but it will always be one of my favorite things to do.

But my first love is books and that, more than anything else, is what TGB is about. If you love books as much as I do, you’ll feel right at home here. So grab a drink, settle into a comfy chair, and spend some time browsing around TGB!

    1. I resisted watching it for years, thinking there was NO WAY I could love a show like that… and then I gave in and watched an episode. I was way wrong. LOL I like to watch it again from time to time. 🙂
