I’ve always meant to do a weekly post that sums up my week in books and other things, and today is the day I start. (And hopefully keep it up!) My poor blog has been neglected of late, so it’s time to show it a little love. With that in mind, I’m excited to kick off the first appearance of Books & Sundry, where I’ll share news about bookish and not-so-bookish things. (And for those of you who noticed: Yes, I did get inspiration from and shamelessly paraphrase the name of the website Geek and Sundry for my weekly post. “Sundry” appeals to the word nerd in me, and I couldn’t resist it!)
I’ve recently signed up with and/or became active on three product review sites: Influenster, Smiley360, and BzzAgent. Very soon now, I’ll be adding product reviews alongside my book reviews. I’m very excited about this new venture, and I’m looking forward to trying out new products and sharing my thoughts about them! I received an email from Influenster a couple of days ago notifying me that I would be receiving the #DarlingVoxBox, and I’m so excited! This will be my first VoxBox, and I can’t wait to try out all the goodies it contains.
As a result of this addition to the blog, I’ve been seriously considering slightly tweaking the web address to tgbreviews.wordpress.com. What do you think?
I’m appalled to acknowledge that my last review was written over a week ago. Yikes. It seems that making a goal of writing my reviews in a more timely manner has had less than the desired effect on me. Or maybe… I was more interested in looking at/doing things on the sites I mentioned above? Hmmm…
As of right now, I need to write reviews for the following books:
The good news is I’ve begun all but two of the reviews, so all I need to do is finish them up.
At least one of these were received prior to this past week, but since I haven’t shared it here, I’m going to post it anyway.
The Fact of a Body by Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich, received courtesy of Flatiron Books.
Broken Branches by M. Jonathan Lee, received courtesy of Hideaway Fall.
Pioneer Girl Perspectives: Exploring Laura Ingalls Wilder by Nancy Tystad Koupal (editor), received courtesy of South Dakota Historical Society Press. (I won a copy of this book via Goodreads Giveaways.)
I’m still awaiting the arrival of three books, so fingers crossed at least one of them will arrive this week!
Ever since I was auto-approved by Bookouture, I’ve tried (oh, how I’ve tried!) not to go crazy downloading their latest galleys. Last night, my restraint failed me miserably, and I went on a bit of a binge. (THANK YOU, restraint, for being so weak. I love you for it!)
Here are my latest acquisitions on Netgalley:
Well, that pretty much wraps it up. Until next time… happy reading!
