Highly Recommended Reads are some of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s the highest praise I give any book. Most are rated with 5 stars, but occasionally a 4 star book is considered worthy of the distinction, as well.

Books are occasionally given an extra 1/2 star when I feel the quality of the story is deserving of something more, but still lacked an intangible something that prevented me from bumping it up another star level. I can’t always explain what that “something” is, but I will always endeavor to do so.
